Questions schools ask
Does Scolara need the internet?
Not for daily work. Everything runs on your own computers. Scolara connects for a moment at least once every 15 days to confirm your license and fetch updates; it sends your license number and a pupil count, never names or records. If it can't connect, you get 5 more days and reminders before anything changes.
What if we have more than 600 pupils?
Choose Growth or Multi-Site — they have no pupil limit, only what your computers can handle. If a Core school grows past 600 during the year, nothing stops working; Scolara reminds you, and you move up at renewal.
Can we pay in shillings?
Yes — prices are in Uganda shillings, paid by mobile money or bank transfer. Because costs move with the US dollar, we review them weekly against the exchange rate; the price you're quoted is fixed for your year.
What happens to our records if the license lapses?
They stay yours and stay readable. You can always view, print and export everything you've entered — we never lock a school out of its own records.
Can we see it before we pay?
Yes. Ask for a walkthrough and we'll show you Scolara running on your own pupil count and fee structure.
Do we pay per computer?
No — you pay per school. Core runs on one computer. Growth connects up to 3 computers to one shared database over your school's own network, and Multi-Site / LAN connects every computer in the building.
